Franverleigh is a low-density three star resort, set on 40ha of indigenous forest, with just two log cabins set in their own private gardens. The chalets are stylishly appointed and fully equipped for a great self-catering holiday. Each chalet has two bedrooms with full en-suite bathrooms, a large open plan kitchen and living area leading to a covered deck, which has suberb mountain and forest views.

After a busy day, come back to your own private corner of paradise where you may see bushbuck, grysbokkies, bush pigs, otters, meerkat, porcupine, badgers and rooikat. All have been spotted – or left calling cards – on our property. It is of course, a bird-watchers heaven. Then there are the Knysna Elephants – it is thought that there just 5 left and we have evidence of their passing only 10km away!

Activities at Franverleigh Lodge

* Hiking trails on the property through the forest to the Karatara River.
* There is a dam stocked with bass (catch & release) about 200m from the chalets, and a canoe for your entertainment!
* There is a large swimming pool and plenty of space for children to play.

How to find Franverleigh? -

5km From Sedgefield in the direction of Knysna on the N2 take the Karatara turn off to the right, just past Lake Pleasant resort. Drive straight up the hill towards Barrington. Our signboard and farm gate are on the left immediately after the 15km distance marker from the N2. We are 1km from the farm gate and through a second gate!
